Monks used the route for religious rites of worship and purification for Shintoism and Budhism. Te Araroa – NZ Trail Aotearoa’s National Trail from Cape Reinga to Bluff over the length of 3000km. I split the islands into two summers, North Island SOBO and South Island NOBO. Avalanche PeakA beautiful hike from Arthur’s pass in South Island. Ascended via Avalanche Peak Track, stayed overnight at Crow’s Hut and then descended via Scott’s Track. Absolutely stunning!
